In September 2006, Video Communications Inc. won a bid from the Department of State to provide them Tandberg 6000 MXP video conferencing equipment. The Department of State required shipping to the American Embassy Baghdad located at the Presidential Palace in Iraq. The U.S. Embassy in Iraq is currently located at the former Presidential Palace. It is located in the “green zone,” the centre of the international presence in Baghdad. A new Embassy, the largest embassy the U.S. will have built, is scheduled to open in June 2007. All the U.S. embassies fall under The Department of State. This was the first sale that Video Communications Inc. has shipped to Iraq. Shipping complications left the Tandberg equipment delayed in transit at the Baghdad Airport. Upon being notified of this, Video Communications corresponded with the delivery personnel, officials in Iraq and in the States to ensure the shipment arrived directly to the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad without any further delay.
